United Way of Corinth & Alcorn County
2024 Agency List

When you give to the United Way of Corinth and Alcorn County, you partner with local agencies who make a difference in our community!  Our mission is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another, and through our support, 14

 agencies focus on the education, financial stability, and health and wellness of Corinth and Alcorn County.

Aiming for Healthy Families

We give youth and their families the tools necessary to combat the myriad of problems associated with high-risk behaviors such as teen pregnancy, sexually-transmitted diseases, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, violence, and dropping out of school character/abstinence and tobacco

education programs.

Alcorn Career & Technical Center Student Scholarships

Provides scholarships to adult learners; exposes at risk youth to STEM concepts through Summer Day Camp; supports enrichment opportunities for all students attending the Alcorn Career and Technology Center.

Boy Scouts

Provides character building programs of life skills, leadership, and outdoor learning for youth 5 to 21. The council is committed to ensurin that every youth, regardless of background, can experience a quality Scouting program and provides individual assistance wherever possible.

Boys and Girls Club of Corinth

Helps youth of all backgrounds, with special concerns for those from disadvantaged circumstances, develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. Provides guidance for youth who may not find it elsewhere in the areas of leadership, scholarship, citizenship, employment, and recreation.

Corinth-Alcorn Assistance Agency

Provides assistance to low-income, disabled, and handicapped persons for rent and utilities. Has supplemental programs to assist homeless people.

Corinth-Alcorn Literacy Council

 Literacy skills help one to obtain a job, resume an education, read for employment, and improve overall quality of life.

4-H Clubs of Alcorn County

Programs provide educational opportunities for youth ages 5-18. 4-H projects and club activities assist youth in developing knowledge, skills, and attitudes enabling them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.

FFA Chapters of Alcorn County

The primary aim is the development of Agricultural Leadership, Cooperation, and Citizenship. The Alcorn County School System has four FFA Chapters.

Faith Haven, Inc.

Provides 24 Hour emergency care for children and youth (newborn through eighteen) who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned and placed in custody of the MS Department of Child Protective Services.

First Call For Help

Provides a "help line" for the public. Coordinates information among service providers to determine gaps, overlaps, and duplication of services to people in need.

Girl Scouts

Develops leadership, cultivates positive values, develops critical life skills.

MRHC Hospice Volunteer Training

Magnolia Hospice provides palliative and supportive care to meet the needs of the terminally ill. Volunteers offer companionship to help patients and families cope with impending death.

Project Attention

A safe haven providing "The Right Stuff" through programs to help save our "at risk" children from the forces of illiteracy, gangs, teenage pregnancy, and juvenile delinquency.

S.A.F.E., Inc.

Shelter and Assistance in Family Emergencies (S.A.F.E.), inc. Is a domestic violence shelter, rape crisis center, and homeless services provider. Services include a toll-free crisis line, safety, shelter, counseling, support group, case management, daycare, transportation, rental assistance, and court advocacy.

Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a co-ed transition shelter created to temporarily house homeless adults in Alcorn Prentiss, and Tishomingo counties.
